Thousands of pilgrims and tourists visit the monastery on weekends and during major religious holidays to pray or enjoy its tranquility and scenic nature.
The monastery is surrounded by the Rhodope Mountains, which create a pleasant microclimate – cool in the summer and mild in the winter.
The monastery’s garden cultivates various vegetables, and the nearby orchards even produce figs.
