Holy Sacrament of Baptism at the Rila Monastery

Schedule for baptisms:

Monday to Saturday: from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Sunday: from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Required documents and items:

Birth certificate of the baptized individual.
Orthodox baptism certificate of the godparent.
New clothes (recommended), a cross pendant, and a towel for the baptized individual.
A towel and soap for the priest.
Fee of 40 BGN, which includes candles for the godparent and the baptized.

Optional offerings for the church:

A bottle of wine.
A bottle of oil.
A bag of flour.

The Holy Sacrament of Baptism is performed in the monastery chapel "Nativity of Christ," located near the monastery bookstore in the courtyard of the holy monastery.
