Zlatolist Village and St. George Church
Zlatolist is renowned for its St. George Church, where the prophetess Stoyna lived at the beginning of the 20th century. Known as a predecessor to Vanga, she was believed to possess prophetic abilities and helped many people.

The church, said to have been built in the 12th century, is famous for its ancient frescoes. At the center of the temple lies a marble slab with a double-headed eagle, believed to emit healing energy when stepped upon.

Zlatolist is also home to a 1,300-year-old plane tree, which locals claim has healing properties. Beneath its branches, swings are tied, where visitors often sway with prayers in their hearts.

In the 1990s, the church underwent restoration, and a small monastery complex was established. Visitors can see the cell where Stoyna lived and a memorial near her grave.

The Wishing Well
Located in the monastery courtyard, the wishing well is said to grant wishes. Visitors whisper their desires over its waters, and many claim their wishes soon come true.

The Life of Prophetess Stoyna
Born on September 9, 1883, in Haznatar, Serres, Stoyna lost her sight at the age of seven due to smallpox. According to legend, St. George appeared to her in a dream, guiding her to dig in the yard to uncover his icon and lamp. In 1903, her relatives brought her to Zlatolist (then called Dolna Sushitsa), where she insisted on living in the church.

Stoyna spent her life in prayer and fasting, offering comfort and guidance to visitors. Her prophetic abilities were said to surpass even those of Vanga. Stories describe her levitating during prayer and leaving her body for extended periods, always returning unharmed.

Testimonies of Miracles:
Numerous accounts speak of miraculous healings attributed to visits to Zlatolist and prayers at Stoyna’s church. From kidney ailments to rare skin diseases, many claim divine intervention transformed their lives after seeking solace in the church and its holy surroundings.

Even today, the church attracts countless visitors from across the country, drawn by stories of healing and the enduring legacy of Stoyna’s prophetic gifts.
