Departure from Sofia at 7:30 AM from Serdika Bus Station.
Visit to Glozhene Monastery.
Explore the monastery – the hiding place of Vasil Levski, the room where Vasil Drumev was imprisoned, and the church with the miraculous icon of "Saint Great Martyr George the Victorious." From the terrace of the monastery, there is a beautiful view of the majestic Teteven Balkans.
Next stop – the town of Teteven, beautifully located along the Vit River. The national poet Ivan Vazov once said about the Teteven region: "If I had not come to Teteven, I would have been a stranger in Mother Bulgaria."
To learn more about the history and lifestyle of the people of Teteven, you can visit the City Museum, located in the town center. A stroll to the Church of "All Saints" – unique for its time with impressive dimensions. Also, visit the "St. Elijah" Monastery, which survived the complete destruction of Teteven by the Turks in 1779.
Free time for lunch.
Departure for the town of Brestnitsa.
Visit to the Saeva Dupka Cave with a guided tour by a local guide.
In Brestnitsa, you will also visit the "Blue Ostrich" Farm, where you will be warmly welcomed by the owner and experience the life and history of one of nature's most unique creatures.
Return to Sofia after 7:00 PM.
